Process Collettivo is the prison economy store of the Rio Terà dei Pensieri Cooperative, inaugurated on May 2017 in the Frari area, in the center of Venice.
In the shop it is possible to buy products made by inmates who work in the laboratories managed by the cooperative: Malefatte bags and accessories, t-shirts printed in the screen printing laboratory and items for body care, realized in the cosmetics laboratory of the women’s prison.
Store opening was promoted and sponsored by Mark Bradford, the American artist who represented the USA at the 57th edition of the Venice Biennale, to introduce and sell the handcrafted products to citizens and visitors. Furthermore, Process Collettivo will provide new job opportunities to people leaving prison and will be a point of reference for former prisoners who will be able to receive information on training, work, housing and health services.
Sales revenues will support job placement projects in prison and new future projects that will be promoted by Rio Terà dei Pensieri.
